Rock Ford Plantation, in collaboration with Theater of the Seventh Sister, is pleased to present “The Matchmaker: A Tale Drawn from ‘Emma’ by Jane Austen.” This one-act play, adapted from the classic novel, will be presented in the candlelit rooms of the Rock Ford mansion on November 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22. Each performance will run approximately 50 minutes with scenes taking place in each of the four parlors on the main floor and in the central hallway of the circa 1794 mansion. Limited to 20 guests per performance. Reservations required.

Final First Friday Organ Concert for 2019

On First Friday, November 1, organist Larry Hershey will play the mighty vintage 1958 analog Allen organ for the final “Organic Reflections” concert of 2019 at First Reformed Church, 40 E Orange Street in downtown Lancaster. This series of free 30 minute concerts is a gift to the community from First Reformed Church, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ. Only 30 minutes in length, the free concerts begin at 8 PM each First Friday for the convenience of those who wish to spend the early evening visiting downtown galleries before the concert. Doors open at 7:30 pm. All are welcome to hear 30 minutes of classical organ music that will refresh your soul and inspire your spirit.
