On First Friday, August 2, “Organic Reflections”, a free 30 minute concert, will feature guest organist Ken Krause playing the vintage 1958 analog Allen organ at First Reformed Church, 40 E Orange Street in downtown Lancaster. The concert begins at 8 PM. Ken has selected a program of organ classics including works of Vierne and Guilmant. The First Friday “Organic Reflections” series is a gift to the Lancaster community from First Reformed Church, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ. For the past 60 years, the mighty vintage analog Allen organ has been used every week to lead worship and accompany the choir at First Reformed United Church of Christ. Music lovers, both amateur and professional, marvel at the incredibly beautiful sound and range of tone of this vintage instrument which is housed in the church balcony behind the 18th century Tannenberg organ screen. Only 30 minutes in length, the free “Organic Reflections” concerts begin at 8 PM.
