Visiting Ronks
Ronks is a small unincorporated village straddling Route 30 and Route 741 in eastern Lancaster County, tucked between Lancaster City, Bird-in-Hand, and Strasburg in the densest part of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. It packs in more visitor attractions per mile than almost anywhere in the county, with two postal zones covering working farmland right up to the edge of the tourist corridor.
The marquee draw is Sight & Sound Theatres, whose Millennium Theatre stages large-scale Bible productions for audiences from across the country. Nearby, the Strasburg Rail Road runs steam trains through Amish farmland, Cherry Crest Adventure Farm hosts its famous summer corn maze, and The Amish Village offers guided tours of a working homestead. You can even sleep in a restored rail car at the Red Caboose Motel.
When it's time to eat, Ronks leans hearty and traditional. Miller's Smorgasbord and Hershey Farm serve the classic Pennsylvania Dutch spread, Dienner's Country Restaurant draws a loyal breakfast crowd, and Dutch Haven has been selling its signature shoo-fly pie along Route 30 since 1946.
