Freiman Stoltzfus is a native of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He was born into an Amish-Mennonite family, the youngest of six children. From an early age, his artistic ability was recognized and encouraged, and he began depicting the people and landscapes of the Amish community.

This bronze sculpture of the gr gr gr grandfather of John Watts de Peyster, benefactor to Franklin and Marshall College, was originally located on the Bowling Green in New York City from 1895-1897.

Lancaster Art Studios exists to provide art to the community and community to the arts by using the combined skill, knowledge, talent and vision of its members to better themselves and the art scene in general through shared ideas, critique, space, and operating costs.

The Artist's Inn & Gallery, built in 1848, is a Federal-style home nestled in a small town surrounded by Amish and Mennonite farms. Horse-drawn buggies regularly pass by the inn. "The Amish and Mennonites are wise people," says Bruce (co-innkeeper). "Their simple lifestyle keeps them in touch with what is important. We couldn't ask for better neighbors. For me, they're a daily reminder to slow down and see life for the miracle it is."

Graduates of Pennsylvania College of Art & Design are strong thinkers, strong makers, strong communicators. As central Pennsylvania’s only four-year, fully-accredited professional art college, PCA&D offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in digital media, graphic design, illustration, photography, and fine art. In addition, adults, teens and youth can enjoy non-credit and credit continuing education classes and workshops throughout the year.
