BUiLDiNG CHARACTER is Downtown Lancaster's largest retail destination and our mission is simple: offer vintage, recycled and handmade goods at great prices. Inventory at our 45+ independent shops changes quickly, so it's best to stop in often. At any time you'll find architectural salvage, recycled name-brand clothing and accessories, furniture, locally made jewelry, gifts and cards, antiques and collectibles, and original works.

Started in 1985 the auction began as a marketing tool for local farmers to sell their produce and plants. Over the years the auction has become known for it's large variety of freshly grown produce and plants. Buyers of all sorts finds Leola to fill their needs - from one box to skid lots. Farm Markets, Garden Centers, Wholesale Distributors, Supermarkets, and Institutions are among some of the buyers.

Space is an eclectic shop in downtown Lancaster, Pennsylvania which specializes in mid-century modern merchandise. I like to call Space a "vintage modern" store. We sell both true vintage and vintage-inspired newly made merchandise that references the mid-century (1950s, 60s, and 70s) era. Packed into our humble 400 square-foot shop are all kinds of items including furniture, lamps, artwork, glassware, pottery, clothing, jewelry, vinyl records, and lots more.
