Distelfink Country Christmas is a Unique Juried Craft Show featuring Locally Handcrafted items. The perennial theme is country/primitive, with over fifty quality vendors displaying tremendous art and craft pieces. Visitors are guaranteed to be charmed and delighted by the quaint wreaths, baskets, gourds, needle felting, pottery, candles, stenciling and decorative paintings. Handmade ornaments are for sale as well as felt and wool sewn Christmas trimmings and décor, and candies.

“Organic Reflections: Thanksgiving Delights”

Organist Larry Hershey will present a free 30 minute concert at 8 PM on First Friday, November 7 at First Reformed Church, 40 E. Orange Street, in downtown Lancaster. The program, “Thanksgiving Delights” will include “Fanfare and Processional” by Keith Chapman, former organist of The Wanamaker Organ in Philadelphia, “Folk Tune” by Percy Whitlock, and Richard Elliott’s arrangement on “Shall We Gather at the River?”. The program will conclude with the Virgil Fox arrangement of Bach’s “Now Thank We All Our God” (Cantata 79).

The First Friday “Organic Reflections” concert series is a gift to the community from First Reformed Church, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ. Only 30 minutes in length, the free concerts begin at 8 PM each First Friday for the convenience of those who wish to spend the early evening visiting downtown galleries before the concert. Doors open at 7:30 pm. All are welcome to hear 30 minutes of majestic music that will refresh your soul.
