Friendship Community is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. Through day programs such as the Heart Art Gallery & Market, Heart Studio, and residential services, Friendship Community supports individuals in living with independence while still receiving the resources they need to thrive.

Designed with beginners in mind, this hands-on experience is led by master glassblower Michael Peluso, who brings over 20 years of expertise to guide you through the magic of this ancient, 2,000-year-old art form. You’ll get an up-close look at molten glass in motion and create a one-of-a-kind heart-shaped bud vase to take home.

First Reformed Church of Lancaster will present a free 30 minute concert by guest organist Ken Krause on First Friday, March 6 at 8 PM. The program, “Lenten Meditations” will feature works by Paul Manz, Phil Lehenbauer, and Paul Fey. The concert will conclude with “Sonata da Chiesa” by the late Gordon Young, who had previously served as organist at First Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Krause is an organ builder with Columbia Organ Works and organist at Saint John Lutheran Church. The concert will be performed on The Hill Byrne/Christiansen Memorial Organ in First Reformed’s historic 1854 sanctuary at 40 E. Orange Street in downtown Lancaster.

The First Friday “Organic Reflections” concert series is a gift to the community from First Reformed Church, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ. Only 30 minutes in length, the free concerts begin at 8 PM each First Friday.
