Servant Stage Presents THE CIVIL WAR

Online | website | Lancaster, false 17603 event website

Servant Stage presents the Broadway musical THE CIVIL WAR through special permission from Frank Wildhorn Jr and Music Theatre International.

This thrilling and awe-inspiring "dramatic theatrical concert” is powerfully relevant to us today, as it takes us through one of the darkest periods in American history, passionately asking us to consider our beliefs about freedom, honor, and faith. Drawing on letters, diaries, firsthand accounts, and the words of Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, and Walt Whitman, this epic thematic revue puts a human face on the greatest tragedy of American history.

Visitors to the site, which features a remarkably preserved water-powered grain mill, step back in time to learn about milling history along the banks of scenic Mill Creek. The adjacent 1855 miller's house, home to three generations of Resslers, is a clear window to early 20th century housekeeping and family life. The home is preserved just as it was when brother and sister Franklin and Anna Ressler offered their neighbors the finest flour, along with neighborly hospitality.
