We are excited to announce the Stewartstown Block Party! May 3rd from 4 - 8pm. This is a collaboration hosted by local non-profit organizations: Affordable Housing Stewartstown, H.O.P.E, Mason Dixon Library, Stewartstown Area Senior Center, Stewartstown Food Pantry and the Teaching Museum for the Fiber and Textile Arts during the Give Local York fundraising event. Come enjoy food (including Chumley's Pit Beef, hot dogs, drinks and more) and a live band (Crossroads Connected 2.0). Each of agencies will have games / activities and information to share about their work in the Stewartstown community! Stewartstown Night Market (Aviator Brewhub) has partnered with the Block Party for a Treasure Hunt! Find the information on the map from both events and be eligible for prizes! First Friday: Classical Cello

Lancaster Cellist Sara Male will be featured in a free 30 minute First Friday concert on May 3, 2024 at First Reformed Church, 40 E. Orange Street, in downtown Lancaster. Sara is principal cellist of the York Symphony Orchestra, acting principal cellist of the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra and Chair of the LSO Board of Directors. She regularly performs with the Reading Symphony, Kennett Symphony and Harrisburg Symphony. Her selections will include Saint-Saens “The Swan”, Haydn’s “Divertimento”, and “Sicilienne” by Maria Theresia Von Paradis. She will be accompanied at the piano by Larry Hershey.

The First Friday concert series is a gift to the community from First Reformed Church, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ. Only 30 minutes in length, the free concerts begin at 8 PM each First Friday for the convenience of those who wish to spend the early evening visiting downtown galleries before the concert. Doors open at 7:30 pm. All are welcome.
