Come enjoy FREE Turkey Hill Moose Tracks ice cream to help raise $20,000 for Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay.

10,000 scoops of Turkey Hill Moose Tracks Ice Cream will be served at Ewell Plaza on Friday, August 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of the largest ice cream social in Lancaster – the 10,000 Scoop Challenge. For every scoop served, Moose Tracks and Turkey Hill will each donate $1 to Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay to support environmental programing to protect Chesapeake Bay’s rivers and streams.

This event is family friendly. Stop by for free ice cream, games and a few surprise local celebrities! We can’t wait to see you there! 🍦

From Tony winners Terrence McNally, Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, creators of such Broadway classics as Ragtime and Once On This Island, this stunning show transports its audience from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing con man and a loveable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love and family.

“Organic Reflections: Wonders of Creation”

Organist Larry Hershey will present a free 30 minute concert at 8 PM on First Friday, August 1 at First Reformed Church, 40 E. Orange Street, in downtown Lancaster. The program, “Wonders of Creation” will include “On Eagles Wings” by Charles Calahan, “Sheep May Safely Graze” (Cantata No. 208), by Johann Sebastian Bach, and “Largo” (New World Symphony) by Antonin Dvorak, arranged for organ by Carlo Curley. Other selections include “Toc-cat-a” (Cat Suite) byDenis Bedard, “Lotus Blossom” by Billy Strayhorn, and “Allegro Maestoso” (Water Music) by George Frideric Handel.

The First Friday “Organic Reflections” concert series is a gift to the community from First Reformed Church, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ. Only 30 minutes in length, the free concerts begin at 8 PM each First Friday for the convenience of those who wish to spend the early evening visiting downtown galleries before the concert. Doors open at 7:30 pm. All are welcome.
