President Carl Strikwerda will look at how buying things has changed over the centuries and how we have changed the globe by our shopping habits. Carl J. Strikwerda is the 14th president of Elizabethtown College, having served previously as dean of arts and sciences at the College of William and Mary and associate dean at the University of Kansas. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Calvin College, a master’s degree from the University of Chicago and a doctorate from the University of Michigan.
